Wren Snow Interview

1. What made you choose the god you did?

I picked Sobek because of his history of being tied to surgery. There’s something appealing about a surgeon that can both heal and destroy equally so I had to have him.

2. What do you know about that god?

Sobek was a god of fertility, surgery, and a few other things. But he was also known as a mad god because he would literally eat other gods if he felt like it lol. They associated him with chaos and he was worshipped as the crocodile.

3. Which other god (if any) did you consider and why?

I originally picked Horus, but he was taken at the time. After that I found Sobek and the rest was history.

4. What did you find challenging about writing a god, whether a reincarnated god (contemporary) or a real one? (paranormal)

The most challenging thing for me was how real did I want it to be? Was he reincarnated? Or was he just insane? I definitely toed the line with this one and tried to find out where he fit the best.

5. Since this series goes to the dark side of MM, what attracts you about this genre?

I love dark everything. The angst, the fear, the shock. The very first genre I ever wrote in when I was younger was horror. As I got older I realized I loved romance so if I can mix the two together I will certainly take that route!

6. What made you want to get involved in this series?

I’ve wanted to take the leap into dark romance for a long time and this gave me the chance to do just that. I was able to take a step back from my lighter books and create something truly twisted and fun that satisfies the darker side of myself.

7. How did you decide if it will be a HEA or not?

I love an HEA. Even if the book is messed up and crazy, I want SOME kind of happy ending for our MC’s. So, I knew right away that this book would end happily… at least as happy as it could end.

8. Are you done with the story? Or will it have a continuation?

For now, Sobek and Matteo are happy where they are. I can’t answer whether or not I’ll pick it up in the future. I think if my schedule allows for it I wouldn’t mind exploring their dynamic again.
